College Student Innovation Laboratory

I Overview

College Student Innovation Laboratory in College of Communication Engineering (College of Microelectronics) is a university-level innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform for college students to practice innovation and carry out the second-class activities. College Student Innovation Laboratory includes College student Independent Innovation Laboratory, College student Science and Technology innovation Laboratory and Open Atom Open Source Society (Chengdu University of Information Technology), covering a total area of 320 square meters. It is responsible for the organization, management, training and implementation of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship practice and open source activities. Together with the University Youth League Committee's College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club and the Chengdu Research Institute's innovation and entrepreneurship space for schools and society, it forms a multi-level and all-round support and service platform for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship.

II College students independent innovation laboratory

College students' Independent Innovation Laboratory is a practical and innovative laboratory established in 2006, which is managed and operated by students themselves. The laboratory serves the CDIO engineering education reform of the college and is open to all students of the college. In the spirit of student-oriented and interest-oriented, the laboratory aims to improve students' ability of engineering practice and application innovation by cultivating students' interesting in electronic design and participating in discipline competitions. The laboratory is divided into independent innovation experiment area, electronic design teaching and training area and intelligent car competition commissioning area, with a total of more than 50 sets of instruments and equipment such as experimental bench, DC regulated power supply, oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, etc., providing superior software and hardware practice conditions and innovation activity space for electronic interest groups of college students and embedded technology association. It can meet the needs of students' daily practical training and preparation for participating in authoritative discipline competitions such as National Electronic Design Competition for College students, National College Intelligent Car Competition for College students, and National Integrated Circuit Innovation and Entrepreneurial Design Competition for College students.

The laboratory adopts the mode of self-management and self-operation, giving students the maximum autonomy and fully mobilizing their subjective initiative. By guiding freshmen, the laboratory conducts training and selection related to electronic circuit design, embedded system hardware and software design and FPGA design for all lower grade students, so as to realize the renewal and inheritance of students in the laboratory. The specific work and results of the laboratory each year will be reported to the college in the form of a yearbook.

In the past three years, the laboratory has organized 48 training sessions, covering more than 600 people, and selected 100 outstanding students. The members of the laboratory have carried forward the spirit of hard work and courage, and have won a total of 60 national awards, 16 regional awards and 283 provincial awards, playing a positive role in promoting the CDIO engineering education and innovative practice education of the college.

III College students' Science and technology Innovation Laboratory

College Student Science and Technology Innovation Laboratory was established in 2016. The laboratory adopts the corporate arrangement and management mode, introduces high-quality college student innovation and entrepreneurship teams and projects to focus on incubation. It provides college students with innovative and entrepreneurial conditions support, innovative ideas and skills training, big innovation project consulting and guidance, discipline competition organization and management, communication and implementation of school-enterprise cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurial achievements transformation and other services. Together with the college's undergraduate dual teacher system, engineering practice and practical training, it forms a multi-level systematic engineering talent training system of the College.

At present, the laboratory is divided into science and technology innovation laboratory and student innovation activities and achievements exhibition room, with a total of about 120 square meters, equipped with 3D printers, unmanned aerial vehicles, VR experimental equipment and a variety of intelligent terminal development kits and other instruments and equipment.

In thepast three years, more than20 teams and more than 100 people have entered the laboratory for study and project operation. They have obtained 12 national and 15 provincial projects of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, 14 patents authorized with undergraduate students as the first author, 12 software Copyrights, and more than 20 published papers. It has successfully cultivated and incubated projects such as the Meng Xiaoming campus shared electric bicycle, the integrated information management platform of "Smart River" river leader system, the cloud service platform of smart agriculture for the prediction of flowering period, and the ADC chip design of multi-channel data acquisition and processing pipeline. At the same time, it has carried out project cooperation with Chengdu Hengshitong Technology Co., LTD., Huaruisheng Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., LTD., Chengdu Telecom, Sichuan Yumu Technology Co., Ltd. And many other enterprises in the areas of instant secure communication, pan-terminal chip and intelligent application, Internet of Things and intelligent system design.

In order to enrich the extracurricular scientific and technological activities of college students and promote the cultivation of students' practical and innovative ability, the college and Huaruisheng Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. jointly held the "Huaruisheng" Cup Hetai single-chip microcomputer application design competition of Chengdu University of Information Technology, and the "Inctronics Cup" PCB design competition of Chengdu University of Information Technology, and Sichuan Inctronics Electronic Technology Co., LTD. The scale of the discipline competition has expanded year by year, and its influence has been continuously improved, creating a superior platform for practical innovation and learning exchange of pan-terminal chip and intelligent application, and promoting the in-depth development of school-enterprise collaborative education.

IV Open Atom Open Source Society (Chengdu University of Information Technology)

Under the management and guidance of the Youth League Committee of Chengdu University of Information Technology, Open Atom Open Source Society (Chengdu University of Information Technology) was officially established in October, 2023 through the application of Open Atom Foundation on March 31, 2023 by the College Student Innovation Laboratory in College of Communication Engineering (College of Microelectronics) of Chengdu University of Information Technology (hereinafter referred to as Communication Innovation Laboratory). It is a non-profit organization composed of students from various colleges and departments of Chengdu University of Information Technology, who love programming and development, open source operating system, opensource database technology, and sharing wisdom results. Our club is based on the idea of open source and technology exchange, embracing open source and advocating technology. It provides a platform for information technology application and innovative design enthusiasts in our school to exercise, exchange and cooperate, and enhance friendship. It has become a carrier for teachers and students to learn open source practice, expand professional horizons, consolidate engineering literacy, and improve innovation ability.

IV Open Atom Open Source Society (Chengdu University of Information Technology)
