Construction Philosophy of the Center

  The 5G Communication Network and Application Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") adheres to the guiding principles of "scientific planning, resource sharing, focusing on key points, improving efficiency, and sustainable development." It follows the construction principles of "combining virtual and physical, complementing each other, and preferring the physical over the virtual." The Center actively applies technologies such as virtual reality, multimedia, human-computer interaction, databases, and network communication to focus on building information-based experimental teaching resources. It closely revolves around the latest technologies and applications in the field of modern communications, actively constructing and developing virtual simulation teaching for communication networks and applications through industry-academia cooperation projects, educational reform projects, and teaching achievements.


  At present, the Center has 8 courses that use virtual simulation experiments or simulation teaching, with the curriculum outlines upgraded to the 2022 version. The experimental content is highly applicable, with significant innovative and up-to-date experimental methods. In 2022, the Center's course "Data Structures and Algorithm Design" was approved as a first-class undergraduate course in Sichuan Province. In 2023, the school-enterprise cooperation initiated the construction of a "5G Security Virtual Simulation" teaching platform, planning to add 6 new virtual simulation experimental projects. Over the past 3 years, 5 scientific research projects of the Center's teachers have been transformed into 20 simulation experimental teaching projects and applied to the course experiments and practical teaching of "Engineering Practice 1-5."


  Over the past 3 years, through various means such as central financial support for local colleges and universities' construction project funds, undergraduate teaching project funds, bureau-school cooperation project funds, school-local cooperation project funds, school undergraduate laboratory construction project funds, and self-raised funds by the school, the Center has continuously invested in the construction of virtual simulation resources, expanded the 5G full-network deployment and optimization virtual simulation teaching system by 40 sets, and added 40 student simulation terminals, effectively ensuring the 5G virtual simulation experimental teaching and resource sharing with society.


  The Center also actively promotes school-enterprise exchanges and cooperation, focusing on cultivating urgently needed communication talents and 5G talents in the communication industry, and jointly building virtual simulation teaching and course resources. In 2022, the Center cooperated with Shenzhen Aiyouwei Technology Co., Ltd. to meet the demand for 5G network talents in the communication industry, and jointly built the "5G Network Planning and Deployment" course, which has been included in the teaching plan of the Communication Engineering major. This includes the co-construction of textbooks (New Generation 5G Network - Full-Network Deployment and Optimization, published by China Railway Publishing House Limited in 2022), simulation teaching resource libraries, multimedia teaching courseware, and student competition training. In 2023, the Center initiated cooperation with Beijing Touch Interaction Company to build a "5G Security Virtual Simulation" experimental teaching platform, and the construction process has started, expected to be applied to course teaching in 2024.


  The Center relies on advanced teaching concepts, unique teaching models, first-class experimental teams and conditions, and high-level talent training capabilities, implementing comprehensive opening and sharing. The Center uses well-known online teaching platforms to effectively form a cross-region, cross-school, and cross-disciplinary professional virtual simulation experiment high-quality resource sharing. Over the past 3 years, the Center's teachers have used well-known domestic education sharing platforms such as Zhihuishu and Bilibili to launch and operate "Data Structures and Algorithm Design" and "Mobile Communication" two online shared courses, and combined with course content, shared and opened virtual simulation experimental resources, achieving positive and excellent teaching effects and social benefits.
