The Information and Communication Engineering and Electronic Science and Technology subjects authorized for master's degrees as the first-level discipline. The Communication Engineering specialty is based on the "Information and Communication Engineering" first-level discipline, also a key discipline in Sichuan Province. In the 2017 evaluation by the Ministry of Education, it received a ranking of "C+", placing first among similar institutions in Sichuan Province and within the top 50 % nationally. In 2022, it was listed among the top 30% in the "Best Chinese Subjects Ranking" by Software Subject.

Discipline Platforms

    The Key Laboratory of Meteorological Information and Signal Processing of Sichuan Province was approved for establishment by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education in 2008. It is dedicated to researching cutting-edge signal and information processing technologies, conducting in-depth studies on their practical applications in electronics, communication, and meteorology, and supporting the modernization of the electronic information industry in Sichuan Province and the meteorological sector in China.

    The Sichuan Collaborative Innovation Center for Integrated Computing and Chip Security was jointly approved for establishment by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Sichuan Provincial Finance Department in 2015. By leveraging the strengths of collaborating universities, research institutions, and high-tech enterprises, it focuses on design methods, concealment methods, detection methods, and protective methods and technologies related to integrated computing and chip security, serving the needs of the national and Sichuan integrated circuit and information security industries.

    The Sichuan Intellectual Property Training Base (Chengdu University of Information Technology) was established in 2017 with approval from the Sichuan Provincial Intellectual Property Bureau. It combines professional education, innovative education, and legal education to cultivate students' awareness of innovation and intellectual property while enhancing their practical abilities in intellectual property application and protection, thereby promoting innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills.

    The Advanced Integrated Circuit and Integrated System Packaging Testing Public Service Platform was jointly established in 2020 by the Shuangliu District People's Government and CUIT. It serves as a rapid prototyping service platform for small and medium-sized integrated circuit enterprises, contributing to local economic and social development.

    The 5G Joint Laboratory between the university, local government, and enterprises was established in 2020 by the Shuangliu District People's Government, CUIT, and Chengdu Telecom. It promotes extensive and in-depth cooperation in fields such as smart cities, smart campuses, industrial internet, smart education, autonomous driving, and new intelligent terminals, fully supporting industrial transformation and upgrading, and serving the national 5G infrastructure strategy and local economic and social development.
